Privacy Policy

Cost of Trade (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates costoftrade.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our service, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.

We built this tool to surface public exchange fee data. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service and we do not sell your personal information.

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your full name. You may also sign in via Google or GitHub, in which case we receive only the profile information those services provide (typically email and display name).

Usage data. We collect standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and to understand how the service is used in aggregate.

Fee Lab queries.When you use Fee Lab, your natural-language queries are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate responses. Queries are not linked to your identity in Anthropic’s systems beyond what their standard API logging covers. See Anthropic’s privacy policy for details.

Saved charts. If you choose to save a chart, we store the chart specification, your conversation history for that session, and the name you provide. Saved charts are private by default; you may optionally make them publicly accessible via a share link.

We do not collect, transmit, or store trade files, order flow data, or any proprietary trading information. Fee Lab is designed so that all such analysis happens locally in your browser or is explicitly provided by you in your query text.

We do not use tracking pixels, third-party advertising networks, or behavioural profiling tools.

• To provide and maintain the service
• To authenticate your account and enforce access controls
• To send transactional emails (e.g., email confirmation on signup)
• To monitor for abuse and ensure the security of the platform
• To improve the service based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns

We do not use your information for advertising or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

We rely on the following sub-processors to operate the service:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Data is stored in the US.
• Vercel — hosting and serverless functions.
• Anthropic — AI inference for Fee Lab queries. Queries are processed under Anthropic’s API terms.

Each provider has their own privacy practices; we encourage you to review them.

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and saved charts are deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for legal or security purposes.

You may at any time:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your saved charts

We use a single session cookie issued by Supabase to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

We may update this policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
